Here’s more details for Facebook, and here’s more details on Instagram.

Check out the Instagram hashtag for inspo! #GetYourWiggleOn – I’ve done flippin’ loads teehee!!

I’ve been nominating a local charity called Care UK Charity, who have a food bank in my area and have done tonnes of work for charity abroad – especially in Syria.

In the Caffeine Queen PJ Set I ordered a size 18, and they are perfect!! It is also available in a nighty / long t-shirt dress here; Caffeine Queen Boyfriend Tee (just £15.20 with my code cat20off). How cuuuuuute!

Caffeine Queen PJ Set

These have been my favourite PJs, of the three sets that I have received in the last 6 months! You will see my instagram is absolutely full of photos of these!

They’re just really stylish and comfortable! I love the fitted, but loose/casual tee, and the trousers have a lovely ribbon drawstring.

“Eden Side Support” in Blush Mix with Brazilian matching briefs.

In the “Eden Side Support” in Blush Mix I ordered a 34HH and in the Brazilian matching briefs I ordered a size 18.

The Eden Side Support is a bestseller (that was the theme of this month’s underwear section). I can tell why!! It fits an absolute dream. Even with my awkward shape, it’s utterly perfect.

Energy Mesh Panel Sports Leggings and Energy Rush Lightly Padded Underwired Sports Bra.

And finally in the sportswear set, I ordered a 34H in the Energy Rush Lightly Padded Underwired Sports Bra and an 18 in the Energy Mesh Panel Sports Leggings.

They both fit GREAT! I have worn them hiking, walking, pilates, weights/squats and for yoga, and they are awesome!!!! The waistband rolled down a tiny bit when I was doing yoga, but I think that’s because I have a size 14/16 waist, so they weren’t quite digging in enough. Some of the smaller ladies in the #TeamPourMoi gang (sizes 10 and 12) recommended sizing up in the leggings for a true squat proof fit. I’m a size 18/20 according to the size guide and the 18 fit perfectly. So check the size guide, and if in doubt, go up a size! The returns are great, anyway! Ha!

COVID-19 vaccination

On Wednesday I got my COVID-19 vaccination. I recorded some short videos for my instagram story and I’ve created a highlight including them all – click here.

My understanding is if you’re not vaccinated, you can have COVID and not know for 2-14 days. You can then still be contagious for 10 days.

If you’re vaccinated and you “catch” it, you’re only contagious for a couple of days whilst your body fights it off. During that time you would have a much lower viral load (so less likely to pass it on to others and less severe) and you’d only be contagious for a few days.

It also means (with the vaccine) you’re 70-95% less likely to get it (depending on the brand of vaccination), and very unlikely to be hospitalised (according to a study I read of 11,000 people, no-one who got COVID after receiving the vaccination was hospitalised).

I’ve had my first dose, and honestly, I’d have it even if it were less effective. I’d hate myself if I gave it to someone and they died or got long COVID or serious after effects.

It’s a lottery how it affects people. Of course, there’s older people (as old as 80-100) who are surviving COVID, but there’s people in their 20s dying who had no underlying health issues. I know a lot of people (through work, and friends) who’ve had very serious side effects from COVID, one lady in particular was just 33, very active and healthy and now cannot breathe when she lies on one side, as one of her lungs is so damaged from COVID.

Pour Moi – January Box – The Final Box!

This month is my final Pour Moi gifted box. I’m excited to show you my final items. My code 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝟮𝟬𝗼𝗳𝗳 will work until 31/01/2021.

This month I’m excited to have received a set of pyjamas, an underwear set and a workout set.

The pyjamas, I chose these “Caffeine Queen” ones.

I am a caffeine addict so I had to get these!

It’s available in sizes 8-22, and the set is £22.40 with my discount code (𝗰𝗮𝘁𝟮𝟬𝗼𝗳𝗳).

It’s also available in a nighty / long t-shirt dress here; Caffeine Queen Boyfriend Tee which is £15.20 with my code (cat20off)

I ordered a size 18, and they fit perfectly!! See the bottom of this blog post for a quick snap of them!!

For the underwear, I chose the very popular “Eden Side Support”. I chose a beautiful pink leopard print called “pink blush mix”. It’s on sale this month!

If you saw my instagram story about my virtual bra fitting, this one of the recommended styles for me. It’s also a bestseller, which was the theme of this month’s underwear choice for our box.

Well, it fits an absolute dream! I’m thrilled with it. Watch out for photos, coming soon on my instagram.

I got it in Blush Mix, with the Brazilian matching briefs. It’s also available in black, white and a few remaining in spice. There’s also a high waist brief available too.

The workout set, I chose the very stylish “Energy” set.

Energy Mesh Panel Sports Leggings – Black/Grey and the Energy Rush Lightly Padded Underwired Sports Bra – Black/Grey

All sportswear is £5 off this month!

I went with a 34H in the Energy Rush, and a size 18 in the Energy Mesh leggings.

They are both utterly perfect. The bra has a really cool metal loop at the back, so you can have an optional racer back!

Of course I had to throw these Caffeine Queen PJs on the moment they arrived – excuse my makeupless face and general dishevelment! Teehee!

They fit perfectly. They’re a really nice length and they have a fully elasticated waist with a lovely ribbon tie.

Watch this space and of course, mainly, my instagram for more photos and reviews!

Blue Vanilla Curve – again

I have been very fortunate to be asked to pick a few items from Blue Vanilla Curve again! I’m so over the moon!

This is the Lucie jumper (LUCIE CURVE 2 IN 1 JUMPER). It’s a faux layered top. It’s a soft jersey jumper, with satiny feel light material in leopard print. It’s available in sizes 18-28.

The leopard print faux shirt is asymmetric and has the cutest puffy sleeves at the wrists!!

I’m a size 18/20 according to the size guide. I got a size 18 and it fits perfectly.

It has a high-ish neck, but the jumper material is really soft and stretchy.

I think this is a really versatile piece!

I’ve styled it here with shiny/faux leather leggings.

I think it would be perfect to dress up for a night out, the high neck means it’s modest whilst being stylish.

I also think you could dress it down with jeans or cotton/viscose leggings for day-to-day wear.

The material of the jumper is perfect to wear alone in spring and autumn, that lovely light, thin, jumper material. Great layered for winter too.

It’s also available in black leopard print in sizes 10-14 (Renata – 2IN1 LEOPARD PRINT HEM & SLEEVE JUMPER).

Then here we have the Susan oversized top (SUSAN – CURVE SHIRRED COLLAR ASYMMETRIC TOP) in sage. I’m wearing it with Vanessa leopard print leggings (VANESSA – CURVE SOFT TOUCH LEGGINGS).

The top is available in sizes 18-28 and is also available in stone. It’s a light, very thin material, and it drapes beautifully. It has a shirred collar and shirred sleeves (3/4 length). I’m wearing a size 18/20.

The leggings are THE most comfortable fashion leggings I’ve ever owned!! They’re available in size 18-26. I’m a size 18-20 according to the size guide, and I’m wearing a size 18. There’s plenty of room in the tummy area.

Overall, all three items are an absolute WIN! I adore them all. I’ve worn the leggings SO much and they’ve washed really well.

Pour Moi – December Box – Part 2

The penultimate month!

You can use 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝟮𝟬𝗼𝗳𝗳 for 20% off on full price / non-sale items on Pour Moi’s website for one more month – until 31/01/2021. Any writing in blue is a link 🖤

Let’s start with my favourite item from December’s box.

My “worn to be seen” choice is the Suspense Underwired Body – Mulberry as it is just so beautiful, it comes in loads of different colours; black, ginger spice, mulberry, white, and red (each word is a link to the different colour!).

The Suspense Underwired Body come in back size 32-38 and cups B-G. I “sister sized” in this and got a 34G. As I’m a 34HH, but a size 16-20, I never thought I’d be able to get a bodysuit!! My true “sister size” would be a 36H or 36GG, but as I’m bottom heavy, this 36G fits perfectly.

I’d maaaaaybe be better off with a 36GG, but hey… In all honesty, I just really wanted it – teehee! A bit of cleavage is achieved after a lil wriggle anyway teehee!

It is a really good fit, anyway!

I’ve really love the “Underwear as Outerwear” trend, and Pour Moi have so so many beautiful bralettes and bodysuits in their “worn to be seen” collection.

I just love how versatile a bodysuit like this is, so pretty and sexy, you could style it in so many ways.

I particularly love the double strap feature on this. It’s basically got two bra cups, a double layered mesh that ties halterneck and a lacy overlay that’s help up by the thicker/normal straps.

My PJ set was the Star Print Jersey Jogger Cotton Pyjama Set and it is SO comfy. It’s available in size 8-22, and there’s a matching Mini Moi set too, in ages 3-12.

Star Print Jersey Jogger Cotton Pyjama Set

I love the relaxed fit of these, and as I type I’m wearing the PJ bottoms! They have a loose-ish cuff on the ankle, and they’re a soft cotton-y feel material. The tiny white stars are printed on.

The set comes one sized. I got the size 18. According to the size guide I’m a size 18/20. The trousers fit perfectly. The top is quite oversized.

And, last be by no means least, I chose the Lara Slinky Jersey Wrap Front Long Sleeve Dress – Berry, which also comes in Black. I ordered a size 18, again.

I adore the colour, the wrap around sash, and the split! It’s ever so slightly on the thin side – the material – I think I’d have to wear shapewear on a night out to not be conscious of my belly showing. But, as you can see it drapes beautifully!

Pour Moi – December Box – Part 1

The penultimate month is here! I’m excited, but a little sad!

You can use 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝟮𝟬𝗼𝗳𝗳 for 20% off on full price / non-sale items on Pour Moi’s website until the end of January 2021. Any writing in blue is a link 🖤

This month as part of #TeamPourMoi I got to pick an item of nightwear, some lingerie that’s “worn to be seen” and an item of clothing from Pour Moi Clothing.

It’s also part of Pour Moi’s #FeelGoodChristmas and their Christmas Gift Guide. You can get Christmas delivery up until the 22nd December!!

Star Print Jersey Jogger Cotton Pyjama Set is exciting. Not only is it available in size 8-22, but there’s a matching Mini Moi set too, in ages 3-12.

Perfect if you’re looking for matching Christmas PJs, but you don’t want to be tooooo Christmassy, perhaps?

I ordered and size 18, and it fits great! The trousers are a tiny bit on the snug side, but I am a size 18/20 according to the size guide.

The top is quite generous, so you can wear it off the shoulder, and it’s a lovely relaxed fit.

Star Print Jersey Jogger Cotton Pyjama Set

My “worn to be seen” choice is the Suspense Underwired Body – Mulberry as it is just so beautiful, I’ve had my eye on this for some time!! It comes in loads of different colours; black, ginger spice, mulberry, white, and red (each word is a link to the different colour!)

I really enjoyed the “Underwear as Outerwear” challenge last time, I’m excited to do it again with this. With New Year’s Eve around the corner, I think it’d be a perfect outfit!!

A little while ago I took a trip to the Chester store, because I was insanely jealous of everyone styling bodysuits and as I’m a size 16-20 but a 34H/HH, I really wasn’t sure they’d fit me. I sister sized to a 36G like I do with swimwear and they’ve been utterly perfect. As my boobs are bottom heavy, I can get away with a smaller cup in a lot of styles, as ideally I’d need a 36GG/H to sister size correctly. I often find I need to go to a 36G when sister sizing, as realistically as my back size is 33″ so I’m closer to a 32HH/J than a 36GG/H, this means the back is quite loose, so it’s harder to keep all the breast tissue in the cups.

Oh, bra fitting is fun, isn’t it! Absolute flipping minefield – teehee!

Finally, I chose the Lara Slinky Jersey Wrap Front Long Sleeve Dress – Berry, which also comes in Black. Again, I ordered a size 18.

As always, don’t forget you can use 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝟮𝟬𝗼𝗳𝗳 for a discount on non-sale items, watch this space fr more reviews and next month’s final box. I post an awful lot over on my instagram and this month I have a lot of posts planned for Pour Moi’s #FeelGoodChristmas campaign.

Intrusive thoughts

As humans, we have thousands of thoughts a day. We all have unintentional thoughts. Our brain naturally produces multiple automatic thoughts. Studies argue anything from 6,000 to 70,000 a day is “normal”.

That’s A LOT. This means most thoughts aren’t even in our conscious awareness.

Something that isn’t really spoken about openly, is that we all have weird and/or disturbing thoughts too. Sometimes these are deliberate, and sometimes they pop into our minds completely randomly, unintentionally and sometimes they can be alarming.

Normal intrusive thoughts have been studied over and over. As part of my CBT training, I’ve studied OCD and intrusive thoughts. One of the most well know psychologists David A. Clark has a done a lot of research (and written a lot of books), especially with anxiety and OCD. I cite one of his studies all the time, as he and a colleague (Purdon C. & Clark D. 1992) surveyed nearly 300 students (198 women and 95 men) with no diagnosed mental health problems. They asked if they had experienced 52 different examples of intrusive thoughts, below is a table of the percentage of people who admitted to having experienced different intrusive thoughts.

Pour Moi – November Box – Part 2

November is drawing to a close. As of Tuesday, you can use 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗠𝟮𝟬 for 20% off on full price / non-sale items on Pour Moi’s website. All writing here in blue is a link 🖤

Be sure to check out the #BlackFriYay sales on the Pour Moi website, before midnight on Monday 30th November and score yourself up to 40% off sitewide!!!

So, a November Box run down. Inspired by other members of #TeamPourMoi I picked a chemise to style as a dress (you may recall that the first August box I had a chemise and swapped it). This is the Floral Jacquard Satin Chemise – Emerald, and it’s available in sizes 8-22. It’s quite a generous fit. I’m a size 18/20 according to Pour Moi‘s size guide, and I ordered a size 18. I’d say I could’ve got away with a size 16 really, there was plenty of space at the back.

The coolest/most versatile piece I got was India Lace Long Sleeve Tie Waist Wrap Over Shirt – Black it’s so awesome, it’s like a short gown, can be worn as a collared cardigan, a sheer shirt, or a wrap top. It’s flipping beautiful. I think my favourite is wearing it like a shrug/short cardigan and tying it at my waist. I’m wearing it here with the Opera Lightly Padded Balconette Bra – Black from my September Box.

Another reminder that you can use 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗠𝟮𝟬 for 20% off anything full price/non-sale as of Tuesday!

This is perfect for me, as I’ve been feeling very strange posting underwear photos on instagram, it feels much more comfortable with my arms covered.

Finally, Bella Slinky Jersey Long Sleeve Tea Dress – Black/Rose Bloom was my favourite. I have worn it LOADS this month.

I adore it! I got a size 18, and it fits perfectly. Bella also comes in a different pattern AND a wrap top. It’s also made with 47% recycled polyester, which is fantastic!

It’s stretchy, comfortable and soft. I really really love it. In dresses I’m anywhere from a size 16-20 (occasionally my bust puts me at a size 22 in non-stretch things). I ordered a size 18 and it fits a dream!! No gaping buttons and still fitted on my waist.

SIDE NOTE!! Today, I did a virtual bra fit with Pour Moi! I’ve created stories about it, and I’ll be sharing them on Monday on my instagram and then (if I manage to get it looking nice), I’ll make a highlight from them!

The woman I spoke to was so helpful, she was really knowledgeable, and gave me some great tips for bras at Pour Moi that will suit my shape. It’s giving me some great inspo as to what to look for in December and January’s boxes!!

All the items have been gifted, so this is an #ad, but all the opinions are my own and honest!

Don’t forget you can use 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗠𝟮𝟬 to get 20% off full price items at Pour Moi! Sorry it won’t be in use for the rest of November, apologies for any confusion, but have a look around the Pour Moi website, there’s up to 40% off, and EVERYTHING is in there.

Lockdown Lows – Part 2

It’s been a tough 10 days.

I can’t say why. Not that I don’t want to, just I don’t really know.

If you don’t already know, I’m a CBT therapist by trade. So, I’m taking my own advice and reflecting on the last 10 days, the last 2 weeks and the last few months to figure out why I’ve been struggling.

There’s a lot going on. I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned, but there’s a global pandemic at the moment 😉 I think that’s stressful for a number of reasons. For one, we can go into “survival mode” or the “fight or flight response” much more quickly and easily at the moment. I, personally, find I can get anxious and/or stressed about things much faster currently. I’ve been feeling quite lethargic and tired for the whole of this pandemic, maybe I’m not sleeping as well… I’m definitely not getting as much outdoor time since October and November have rolled around. Feeling tired can also be a symptom of anxiety/stress. If you think about what happens to our body when we experience the “fight or flight response”, and/or a flurry of adrenaline, it’s exhausting. Add all that up and it’s no wonder I’ve been feeling a bit low. It doesn’t help that I’ve been having problems with my back, which WONDERFULLY, gets worse with stress and is very unpredictable *audible eye roll*.

Work is significantly harder at the moment, the people I speak to are struggling more, and I’m finding it very strange working from home. I think, for me, the most difficult part is feeling isolated. At work I’m used to a busy office environment 3 or 4 days a week, there’s a lot of ad-hoc peer supervision, lots of general chatter… it’s really important to have people to bounce ideas off, or just decompress for 5/10 minutes. It’s funny how often therapists probably “therapise” each other in the office too, even if it’s just the way they’re feeling about work.

Plus, usually we’re very sociable. We usually meet friends several times a week – we would normally go out for meals a few times a week, go out for drinks a couple of times a week or round to friends’ on a Friday and/or Saturday night. Before lockdown I was not really a texter or a caller. I can count on one hand the people who would regularly call me or I would call them!! Now, whilst feeling so very tired, and having not really done anything, I’m finding it hard to reach out to friends and/or colleagues. There’s not much to talk about, and it’s somehow overwhelming to think about getting into a text exchange right now.

I’m not problem solving any of this. I’m giving myself space and time. We have a bubble with one of our single friends, and that’s been a lifeline. I’ve stopped putting pressure on myself to do decorating or “make use” of this “extra time”. We’ve been out for a few socially distanced walks; and I’ve been sending a few messages here and there. We’ve done some video chat drinks. I’ve been pushing myself to take photos for instagram and blog posts. That’s about it for now, and I think that’s enough. Expecting ourselves to have normal or good mental health right now is really setting ourselves up to fail.

If you’re struggling right now, my advice is to reach out to friends. A simple “Hi! How are you?” or “what are you up to, just checking in” can do wonders for feeling connecting and reminding you that people care 🖤

Pour Moi – November Box – Part 1

Hello November! What this means for Pour Moi is a MONTH LONG SAAAAAAAALE! Yeah baby. There’s up to 40% off site wide, no code needed. It means my code (CATM20) won’t be working. All the writing in blue, is a link 🖤

This month is all about 🖤 Black Friday 🖤 sales and starting to get ready for Christmas. I know, I know, I’m sorry for swearing… Talk of Christmas is usually banned until the 1st December for me, teehee!

For this month’s box I got to pick something in Black for #BlackFriYAY, something Christmassy (lots of reds, black with red, and PJs to choose from) from the Christmas Gift Guide and something from the Autumn/Winter Clothing drop.

URM, yes, you read that right CLOTHING! Pour Moi now have an extensive range of clothes in size 8-22. Check out the new Pour Moi Clothing on Instagram and there’s a dedicated section on the website too 👌

For Black Friday, I chose India Lace Long Sleeve Tie Waist Wrap Over Shirt – Black which is 10% off at £30.60 (was £34.00). I went for a size 18. It’s available in sizes 8-18.

From the Christmas Gift Guide, I chose the Floral Jacquard Satin Chemise – Emerald that’s £27.00 was £30.00 with 10% off. It’s available in size 8-22; and again, I went with a size 18.

Finally, for the Autumn/Winter Clothing, I picked Bella Slinky Jersey Long Sleeve Tea Dress – Black/Rose Bloom. It’s usually £39, but currently £31.20 with 20% off in the #BlackFriYay sales 👌

There’s four different Bella’s it comes in a tea dress and a wrap top in the Black/Rose Bloom pattern or a Navy/Gold fleur-de-lis pattern. The tops are available in sizes 8-18 and the dresses are available in sizes 8-22.
